Logistics Career Fair and Summer Learning Program
Dear Traffic and Transportation Club of Greater New Orleans Supporter,
In celebration of New Orleans’ tricentennial the Club is excited to announce our inaugural Logistics Career Fair and Summer Learning Program. In partnership with KIPP New Orleans Schools, Delgado Community College – Maritime and Industrial Training Center and the Port of New Orleans we are gearing up to introduce area students to careers in logistics. Beginning with a career fair on April 11 at the Port of New Orleans, we feel that this learning opportunity is an ideal way to celebrate the city’s 300th birthday – promoting education and the economic development of our city for the next 300 years.
The Logistics Career Fair and Summer Learning Program emphasizes the Club’s goal of promoting educational programs and encouraging the discussion of transportation and logistics. This begins with introducing young people to careers in transportation and logistics that exist locally, nationally and globally.
The purpose of this outreach endeavor is to not only enrich local students, but to provide an opportunity for our membership to cultivate and strengthen community ties. This creates an ideal avenue to promote what we do as logistics professionals while encouraging the next generation to take up the helm.
The TTCGNO would like to invite you to support this community initiative by participating in the upcoming career fair, hosting 1-3 students as summer interns, and/or becoming a corporate sponsor. Because TTCGNO is a 501 (c) 4 organization, you support may be tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for helping us celebrate our tricentennial year by investing in our future workforce.
Fran Cruz, President
Nakeila Polk, 2nd Vice President
